Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Assemble: Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Top each fillet with lemon slices, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dill, and thyme leaves. Drizzle each fillet with olive oil.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  • Serve: Serve the baked salmon immediately.

Notes

  • Salmon: Use fresh or thawed salmon fillets. Wild-caught salmon is generally considered a healthier option. Skin-on fillets will be more flavorful, but skinless fillets are also fine.
  • Herbs: You can use any combination of fresh herbs you like. Other good options include rosemary, tarragon, and chives. Dried herbs can be substituted if fresh are not available, but use about half the amount.
  • Lemon: Use a fresh lemon for the best flavor. You can also use lemon zest in addition to the slices.
  • Garlic: Freshly minced garlic is preferable, but you can use garlic powder in a pinch.
  • Olive Oil: Use a good quality olive oil for the best flavor.
  • Doneness: The cooking time will depend on the thickness of the salmon fillets. Check for doneness by flaking the salmon with a fork. It should flake easily and be opaque throughout.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve the baked salmon with roasted vegetables, quinoa, rice, or a fresh salad.
