Ingredients
Scale
2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate)
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Mix-ins:
1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds)
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
1/4 cup peanut butter (or other nut butter)
Sprinkles
Dried fruit
Instructions
Prepare the pan: Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray. Line the pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
Combine ingredients: In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
Microwave: Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir well. Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Be careful not to overheat.
Add flavorings: Stir in vanilla extract and any optional mix-ins (nuts, marshmallows, etc.) until evenly distributed.
Pour and set: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or until firm) before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
Don’t overheat the chocolate, as it can burn. Microwaving in short intervals helps prevent this.
Be sure to stir well after each microwave interval to ensure even melting.
Get creative with your mix-ins!
For a richer flavor, use real butter.
Store leftover fudge in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
