Ingredients
Pretzels (rods, twists, or buttons)
Chocolate (dark, milk, or white – your choice!)
Optional Toppings:
Crushed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts)
Sprinkles (various colors and shapes)
Sea salt
Shredded coconut
Caramel bits
Dried fruit pieces
Instructions
Prepare your workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the chocolate:
Microwave Method: Break the chocolate into smaller pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate.
Double Boiler Method: Fill the bottom pot of a double boiler with water and bring to a simmer. Place the chocolate in the top bowl and set it over the simmering water. Stir frequently until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
Dip the pretzels: Hold a pretzel by one end and dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
Add toppings (optional): If using toppings, sprinkle them onto the wet chocolate immediately after dipping.
Set the pretzels: Place the dipped pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet.
Cool and set: Allow the chocolate to cool and harden completely at room temperature (about 30 minutes) or in the refrigerator (for faster setting).
Notes
For easier dipping, you can use a dipping tool or a fork.
If the chocolate starts to thicken, you can reheat it gently.
Experiment with different types of chocolate and toppings to create your own unique flavor combinations.
Package the chocolate dipped pretzels in cellophane bags or boxes for gifts.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
